When I read this, I found myself agreeing to more than half of it. I need to keep repeating to myself to live in the moment. If I spend my time counting time, I will probably end up passing up my next big moment in life—I hope I do not miss it.

LIVESTRONG gets a new symbol
Last week LIVESTRONG Foundation unveiled its new symbol, designed by Rigsby Hull, calling it “subtle but substantive” and a “natural step” in the organization’s evolution. Too subtle? It’s been discussed by media from Wall St Journal to Ad Age and the Non-Profit Times, but the best analysis so far is from Matt Wilson: “What will really make a difference for LIVESTRONG isn’t how they look, it is what they do. They will be judged by deeds, not design.”

"A reviewer once referred to Lana Rigsby, one of design’s most articulate practitioners and advocates, as “The Velvet Hammer”—a comment that delighted her. “How do you use design to reach people?” she asks. “By catching them off guard, surprising them, seducing them… then telling them something new in a way they’ll remember.” She feels it’s a good description of her firm’s work. In a presentation at Portfolio Center this week, she talked about why.”
